This is a piece of advice from the Japanese poet, Basho. In his poem, he claimed that it shouldn’t be his job to make sure that the trees produce fruit. Instead, that responsibility should fall on the trees themselves. This is a very simple concept but one that many people struggle with.

As human beings we tend to think we must do everything for others and we must be the ones to solve every problem. It is hard to let go and trust others.
